Trends in Insurance, Healthcare, Life Sciences-Pharma (IHLP) : 2021–24
Covid pandemic has caused disruptive transformation. In my opinin, Indian Healthcare sector is likely to see multifold boom.
If given a chance, I would put my money on Indian Healthcare Sector (IHLP) than on US Healthcare. With the continuous overhanging possibility of next “wave” or surge in Covid cases, new variants causing havoc every few weeks, Healthcare care sector is likely to be in the forefront for next 2–3 years.
A positive outlook for Indian Healthcare sector with VCs backed entrepreneurship, is likely in coming year.
All the empirical data and trends based on Real World Evidence (RWE), early market trends, Market data, International trends, Indian Financial and Healthcare reports, point to the following observations and Inferences :
1) Urban Indian Healthcare Service Sector will demand huge growth.
2) Big ticket investments are likely in Indian Insurance (Healthcare) sector and Diagnostics domain ( Pathology labs, Imaging centers )
3) Primary Healthcare Chains backed by VCs could be the “New Healthcare Service” model
4) Super Specialty Hospitals likely to see geometric growth
5) Healthcare service providers and resources would be in great demand, due to lack of adequate quality supply.
6) Palliative home care could be the new sector of high growth.
7) Educational and Training institutes for Healthcare Service Providers may boom.
8) Consolidation in online Pharmacies is likely which in turn would turn retails pharmacies into supermarkets, especially in Urban areas.
9) Health Insurance Coverage for Employees in every sector is going to be the biggest perk
10) A likely boom in Healthcare Service providers , Primary care providers and Super specialists in the therapeutic areas like : Physical Therapy, Psychiatry, Child psychology, Diabetes, General Well being (Gyms, yoga-aerobics studios etc.)
Here is my personal take and places where I would put my money on :
1) Invest or be part of Health Service providers chains, Super specialty hospitals, Healthcare resource Training Institutes, Niche Healthcare Data Analytics firms, IT implementing and consulting firms.
2) Have my equity in Healthcare Insurance Sector, Online Retail Pharmacies, Diagnostic lab chains.
I would be publishing a detailed report in few months, based on market surveys trends and market data.
