Digital Transformation is in top gear now. The acceleration was boosted by the pandemic that started in early 2020 and we are now “Digitized” in almost all verticals including the relatively conservative Healthcare sector.
Digital Healthcare or Digital Health is NOT just Health Apps , it is far beyond that. In fact, these are just the initial steps of Digital Transformation that essentially means data driven, evidence based medicine (EBM) and informed decisions in healthcare that streamlines the clinical workflows and makes the system efficient for Subjects / Patients , Payers and Providers, leading to value based healthcare . In the June 2019 article on Digital Transformation and value based healthcare , I had mentioned that healthcare is in for a big transformation to achieve efficiency over coming decade. The Pandemic accelerated this transformation and put it in top gear , especially in the conservative healthcare domain , almost forced the Digital Health adoption, starting from Health Apps ,moving up to Data driven decisions, Automation and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Neural Network Tools (ANN)
Healthcare is now immersed in Information Technology , Data being the core driver providing value ! We are in IT now !! :)
